Average number of partners?

Bijou posted a question about how many is too many. Great question (and totally relevant to GWS IMO). But some of those answers surprised me. 3, 5, 10 partners and that makes someone a ho. The average American woman has 7 partners. REALLY??? I won’t ask what your number is, but what do you and your friends consider the average woman’s number? The average man’s number? And does that change as you get older or your cirstances change? If a 25 year old has had 6 partners, is she promiscuous? If a 50 year old woman never marries and has had 40 partners (one every 6 months for 20 years), is she promiscuous? I was shocked at the “average number” that was given. What are your thoughts on acceptable averages for men, women, yourself, your friends?
