Do beach waves look nice in hair?

i am wondering about making my hair have beach waves. ive brought VO5 extreme style surf style spray and it looks like it will look good. just wondering if anyone has tried ANY type of beach waves spray! if you could tell me what it turned out like it would be fab...thanx Xx
