Does anybody know of a reliable DVD to Mpeg program/software ?

I'm trying to convert a dvd to use on my Creative Zen Vision MP3 etc. player but the one piece of software that I have ( iSofter DVDPlatinum ) while easy to use copies with the sound out of sync ! Any suggestions would be great ( I use Region 2 DVDs and am a 56 year old Brit so talk slow ) ...thanks. John
